More About Me

My home is in Southern California and until November 2007 I was working 60 hours a week. Following a diagnosis of MS I have been on permanent medical leave. It has been very difficult to find myself going full tilt and then stopping and having nothing to do, so I decided to find a hobby and I found a passion that I love. Now, I put all my energy into creating jewelry for my Etsy shop and writing the stories to go with them. My jewelry is made with vintage and antique jewelry and then they are turned into works of art. Each piece of vintage jewelry has it’s own story, I just write them down and include them as a gift. KD Design studio started one day when a little five year old girl and a younger brother who was 4, were playing dress up with their Grandmothers clothes; KD Design Studio started that day. A few years later I wanted to open my own store. I got the idea after seeing an empty store near the market and I just knew I could find something to sell in that store. I could work after school and apparently at 7 anything is possible, so I decided I could take bent clothes hangers and straighten them out and make something out of them. So as you can see, my fantasy world grew from clothes hangers to jewelry and now I have the store I longed for. I don’t use wire clothes hangers but the idea is just the same.
